Graduates in any discipline from a recognised university with at least three years of experience working with communities, aged between 25 and 65 years on the date of admission. Where applications exceed the intake, a joint Selection Committee gives preference to retired judicial officers, advocates and professionals experienced in mediation, dispute resolution, legal aid or social work.

An application fee of ₹500 is payable when you apply. The course fee is ₹7,000 for General and OBC candidates and a concessional ₹6,000 for SC and ST candidates on production of a valid caste certificate, and it is payable only by candidates who are selected, who will be informed separately. Both the application fee and the course fee are non-refundable. Applications open on 9 August 2026 and the first batch commences in September 2026 with an intake of ordinarily 40 participants.

Seats are limited to forty in a batch. Where the applications received and shortlisted exceed the seats available, the remaining shortlisted candidates are considered for the next cohort of the course. Selection is made by a committee constituted jointly by MPSLSA and DNLU.

Yes. A batch may be conducted for the hearing and speech impaired community, with at least 10 percent of seats, four seats, reserved for eligible applicants from that community, with interpretation and accessibility support.
